Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto — doing our best for the environment

We are a municipally owned pioneer in waste management and sustainable material management in Pirkanmaa. We are responsible for regional waste management services in accordance with the principles of the shareholder agreement and the Articles of Association, as well as legislation. We assess the environmental impacts of our services and ensure environmental benefits in all our operations. The starting point of all our operations is health and environmental protection, and comprehensive identification and mitigation of environmental impacts.

We develop our operating methods to be more efficient and less harmful to the environment, and use the best applicable technologies. Together, we plan and develop the waste management system in our area to meet changing requirements.

We work openly, while listening to our residents and stakeholders, and allowing them to get involved. We set resources aside for the development of productive and efficient service models together with our partners.

Our code of conduct was considered and approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on 18 December 2019
