Garden waste

Sort the following as garden waste

• leaves and raked waste
• tops of root vegetables and grasses
• apples
• brushwood

Sort brushwood and apples from garden waste when bringing it to the waste centers.

Where can I take it?

To the Koukkujärvi and Tarastenjärvi waste centres for free (a trailer load) 

Small amounts you can put into the biowaste bin.
Remember then:

• Pack apples like the other biowaste.
• Cut twigs into short pieces.
• Do not fill the bin with apples. It should not weigh more than 60 kg.

How is garden waste recycled?

• In waste centers the garden waste is composted and utilised.
• When composted at home you’ll get nutritious soil.
