Special waste

Waste requiring special treatment includes

• dead animals such as moose carcasses or offal
• rejected product batches
• large precast concrete units
• sharp and pointed hospital waste
• waste brought by a sewage tanker
• asbestos

Where can I take it?

Take special waste to the Koukkujärvi or Tarastenjärvi waste centre. Inform the waste centre in advance of special waste. Special waste requires special measures during collection, transport or treatment.

Asbestos waste must be taken to the Tarastenjärvi waste centre. All waste containing asbestos must be packed. Dusty and loose asbestos must be packed particularly carefully, and tightly sealed, in an airtight container or strong bag.
