Completely hardened bitumen that does not give out odours (volatile organic compounds) is mixed waste (same as asphalt). Bitumen solutions and bitumen that gives out odours must be delivered to hazardous waste collection. Hazardous waste produced by companies should be delivered to the appropriate treatment plant.
