Vartti containers

Take hazardous household waste to Vartti containers

There are six Vartti containers in the region, located in the yards of service stations and hardware stores. You can take hazardous household waste to them free of charge. Vartti containers are available during the businesses’ opening hours.

What can I take to a Vartti container

  • paints
  • solvents (petrol, thinner, turpentine)
  • oils (in their canisters)
  • oil filters
  • batteries
  • fluorescent tubes
  • pesticides and herbicides
  • batteries

Bring hazardous waste packaged, preferably in its original packaging. Do not mix different types of hazardous waste. Take medicines and mercury thermometers to a pharmacy.

Pick up the key from the shop

Pick up the Vartti container’s key from the shop. Sort the hazardous waste into the container’s bins. Close the door and return the key.
